The Undercroft: Baltimore’s Autonomous DIY Collective Community Art Sanctuary.
Nestled in the heart of the Remington neighborhood in Baltimore, we are passionately committed to fostering equality and nurturing autonomous thought. We believe every individual in our city, irrespective of their means or experience, should have access to the arts and access to create, perform, and share art.
Our Aspirations:
- To break down the lines between creator and observer
- To cultivate a nurturing and safe haven especially for Trans & Queer youth of Baltimore.
- To serve as a vibrant conduit for diverse art & culture, challenging the constraints of consumer culture and reflecting Baltimore’s rich tapestry of voices.
- To stand as a formidable shield against the many faces of oppression that haunt our streets – from violence to sexism, racism, homophobia, and transphobia.
Our Beliefs:
- Radical Hospitality: In Baltimore’s spirit of community, every individual is not just welcomed but actively invited.
- Sober Spaces are Safer Spaces: We recognize and advocate for their transformative potential in making communities safer.
- We support victims: We stand unwaveringly support victims Collective Empowerment Changes the world: We believe in harnessing collective efforts to embolden all individuals
- Unified Through Art: Music and art aren’t mere expressions; they’re powerful mediums that bond communities together.
At The Undercroft we will always be all ages, powered by selfless volunteers, with an unwavering commitment to community over profit.
